Bottles Donated to Date

Arizona Community

Through your support we have been able to donate hundreds of bottles to those experiencing homelessness  in “The Zone” in downtown Phoenix. Together we are saving lives in the Arizona heat! We hope to serve Tempe and the surrounding areas in the coming months. Remember, when temperatures rise cold water becomes essential to regulate body temperature and prevent dehydration, heat strokes, and death. Consider  support us today!

The Bottle

Donating plastic water bottles should no longer be the answer! Here’s why:

Most plastic water bottles are made from a plastic called polyethylene terephthalate, or PET. The National Institute for Health warned that the antimony, used in manufacturing, could be toxic in high doses. Temperature causes the toxins of the bottle to leach into the drinking water. This same effect happens with Styrofoam cups. Making the water unsafe to drink.

Our bottles focus on a SUSTAINABLE solution to this issue and ensure water is cold and safe. We are reducing single use plastic that can end up in landfills, or on the streets. Our bottles are the only real water donation method that makes sense anymore.

Our bottles are not a one time donation. They are a life-line. Here is how it works:

We partner with different organizations and businesses who allow bottle refills daily, for free! Bottle recipients are given a list of places they can take their bottles each day. (Most of the time they already know where to go for water, but didn’t have a good means of getting enough or keeping it cold and safe.) It only takes one refill a day to be enough for a person to have cold water for 24 hours, and be fully hydrated.

In the near future we want to fund or lobby to have public water filtration systems throughout the community for refills. We hope that with your generosity, we can place these fill stations across the community and hopefully, the nation.

The perfect amount to ensure no one is dehydrated:

A lot of research and consideration went into the size of our bottles. We found that appropriate daily water intake varies on many factors such as gender, age, and health status. However, Harvard Health Publishing (2016) stated that a person should drink 4-6 cups (32- 48 oz) of water per day. Our 64 oz. size means all recipients of a bottle, regardless of their health conditions, have enough water to only need a refill once a day.

Unlike plastic bottles that keep water cold for about 18 minutes:

Our bottle has a double wall vacuum-seal ensuring it can keep water cold for 24 hours. Stainless steel is a safe and durable material that can be reused time and time again but we took extra measures to ensure our bottle could withstand intense summer temperatures. This is why our bottles are powder coated white. Did you know white reflects up to 98% of the sun’s heat. This means our bottles are never too hot to pick up or drink out of!

We really thought of it all!

Stories

Dan C.*

“The hardest thing in this desert is to stay hydrated. You can only carry so many bottles of water and they are mostly hot by the time you drink them. To have an insulated large bottle like you donated… that takes a lot of weight off of you. It truly means a lot. We are so happy to get this and cannot believe you are giving them away for free.”– George*, bottle recipient.

“Every time I get a reusable bottle it gets stolen because it is such a highly desired item in this community. This is the nicest and largest one I have ever gotten. It is going to be so helpful for me. I can't thank ARA® enough."
