The first annual ARA® Sand Volleyball Fundraiser was a huge success! Bringing over 90 people together to enjoy food, live music, and a beautiful Arizona evening. The event had incredible sponsors who made it all happened and donated some incredible prizes. Read to see how much money was raised and how the evening went.
Each year November is recognized as “Homelessness Awareness Month”. This is a time to bring attention to the most vulnerable in our communities. ARA® is dedicating this month to education, awareness, and highlighting other organizations that have the same end goal: end homelessness in the United States. Today we will share what it means to experience homelessness and who is the most at risk of homelessness.
Fox 10 Phoenix highlights ARA® founder and CEO. – When Krystal Wuller walked into a gas station to refill a plastic bottle with water, she was told she needed a reusable one instead. She realized she wasn't the only person that this has happened to and that members of our homeless population who rely on refills need a better way to get them.
When you're living outdoors in 110+ degree temperatures its is extremely hard to stay safe, hydrated, and regulate your body temperature. Often in Arizona, we see what is called "Excessive Heat Warming". These encourage people to limit time outdoors and drink plenty of water among other things. How do you do this when you have no place to call home? How do you limit time outdoors when you live outdoors?
We joined forces with our friends at Andre House to bring in 200 more bottles to downtown Phoenix.
